Business Description

I started my dry cleaning business in River Valley more than 2 years ago. This is rather a special dry cleaning shop. I imported from USA a automated Laundry Drop-off and Retrieval kiosk that allow customer to drop-off and pick-up their laundry 24x7, 365 days! You may refer to the demo video (http://youtu.be/Wgduy2svSlg). This service is very popular with my customer, esp. Expats, as it is high tech and ultra convenient! To me, it is very important and beneficial as I could hire less headcount, after shop closed, it continue to accept laundry drop-off and revenue. On Sunday when the shop is closed, without staff, it can generate more than $400-$500!


River Valley has the most expat and well-to-do residents. They have very strong 'dry-cleaning' culture than Singaporean who wash by themselves. So for dry cleaning business, River Valley is certainly a right location to be. There are many Expats move in and out of River Valley, that means it provide many new business source, not stagnant customer pool. Expats also gives many winter wear, more evening gown, comforter, carpets. These are high values and higher profits items. There are many curtains, sofa cover as well because tenant needs to wash them before they return the unit to landlord. These are also high profits items. 


My rental is $3800/month. High sales revenue is $18k and low is $14k. Average is about $16k. I seldom do marketing or promotion so far as I have really limited time. I believe if do so, it will attract more sale! Staff salary $1400, factory washing cost 40-45% of sales. So my profit margin approx. $3600/month. I only used half of the shop for my business and partition into 2 units. Next half of shop is able to rent out. Previously I rented $2000/month. That makes your monthly income even more lucrative! 


I have full time regional job and traveling often. The reason for me to sell is my company offered me overseas posting. I am considering it. If I could sell this shop, it will make my decision easier. Moreover, I am too tired of the time and effort (pick up/delivery jobs) after my office hours or in between my full time job for more demanding customers. I would like to spend more valuable time with my family too.
